Guide to Visiting the Xochimilco Trajineras – Open and Available Service for 2026

Reservations

  • Is it necessary to make a reservation?

    No. Reservations are optional, but we recommend booking in advance, especially during weekends, holidays, and periods of high demand.

  • Can I book a tour on the same day?

    Yes. Same-day reservations are subject to availability.

  • How will I receive my reservation confirmation?

    After completing your reservation, you will receive a confirmation email with all the information needed to access your tour.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

    We accept secure payments through our online reservation system and other payment methods available during checkout.

Trajineras (boats)

  • Is the price per person or per trajinera?

    All prices apply to a complete trajinera, not per person.

  • How many people can fit on a trajinera?

    Each trajinera can accommodate up to 15 guests.

  • What happens if our group is larger than 15 people?

    For safety reasons, groups larger than 15 guests must reserve a second trajinera.

  • What is included in my reservation?

    Your reservation includes a private trajinera and the route corresponding to the selected tour.

  • What is not included in my reservation?

    Food, beverages, live music, and attraction entrance fees are not included in the base rate.

Food, Drinks & Music

  • Can I bring my own food and drinks?

  • Can I bring alcoholic beverages?

    Yes. Alcohol is permitted on board. We kindly ask all visitors to drink responsibly.

  • Is live music included?

    No. Live music services are not included in the base rate.

    Yes. Depending on availability, mariachi bands, trios, and other live music services may be available.

  • Do you offer food or buffet options for groups?

    Yes. Buffet options are available for groups of 20 or more guests and are subject to a prior quotation.

Boarding Locations

  • What is the difference between Nativitas, Cuemanco, and Fernando Celada?

    Each boarding location offers a different experience. Nativitas and Fernando Celada provide a traditional Xochimilco atmosphere, while Cuemanco focuses on nature, landscapes, and ecological surroundings within a protected area.

  • Do I need identification to visit Cuemanco?

    Yes. The person who made the reservation must present a valid government-issued ID to access the boarding area and protected natural zone.

During the Tour

  • Can I get off the trajinera during the tour?

    Yes. Stops are optional and depend on the selected route.

  • Do attractions require an additional fee?

    Some attractions may require an additional entrance fee.

  • What happens if it rains?

    Tours operate normally in rainy weather. All trajineras have a roof and side curtains for comfort and protection.

Before Your Visit

  • What time should I arrive?

    We recommend arriving at least 20 minutes before your scheduled departure time.

  • Where will I receive access instructions?

    Complete access instructions are provided in your confirmation email after booking.

Cancellations & Changes

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    Reservations canceled at least 72 hours before the tour receive a full refund. Cancellations made between 72 and 24 hours before the tour are subject to charges. Reservations canceled less than 24 hours before the tour are non-refundable.

  • Can I change my reservation date?

    Yes. Date changes must be requested at least 48 hours in advance and are subject to availability.

General Information

  • Are the tours suitable for children?

    Yes. All tours are family-friendly and suitable for children.

  • Can I bring pets?

    Yes. Pets are welcome as long as they remain on a leash during the visit.
